Welcome Back 1980′s – You weren’t even gone that long.
Is it a surprise the 80′s are back? We saw bellbottoms, platform shoes and smiley faces rise from the dead in the 90′s reminiscent of a simpler, more hairy time just two decades earlier. Though I wasn’t exactly around in the 70′s, I’ve noticed 1950′s nostalgia reflected in much of the pop culture with Happy Days and Grease. So it isn’t exactly anything new that each generation tends to emulate elements from the one before.
The 80′s comeback shouldn’t be news to anyone since its resurrection debuted back in 2001. Given fashion’s tendency to constantly recycle itself, the only curious thing about this return is how soon it happened. (Source)
